Dr. Kathleen Atwood

Dr. Kathleen Atwood

DVM and Owner

My name is Dr. Atwood, and I am the owner and veterinarian at Cashua Veterinary Care, where I provide compassionate, personalized care to every patient I see. I am a graduate of Furman University (BS, 2006) and Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine (DVM, 2010), beginning my veterinary career in small animal general practice in Greenville, SC, before returning to my roots in Florence. With special interests in internal medicine and surgery, I’m passionate about helping pets live their healthiest, happiest lives. I value the opportunity to build long-term relationships with both my patients and their people — believing that trust and communication are the foundation of excellent veterinary care. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband and son on our farm. I’m an avid equestrian, gardener, and cook, and share life with a variety of beloved pets.

Crystal Summerford

Practice Manager/Veterinary Technician

I am a Veterinary Technician and Veterinary Practice Manager at CVC. I’m excited to say that I have been a Veterinary Technician since 2001 and have worked in this field since 1999. I have a BS degree in Biology that I obtained from Francis Marion University. I decided at a young age that my career path would be in Veterinary Medicine. After graduating high school, I set out to find my place in this field, and I wouldn’t change it for the world! I moved up from kennel to assistant within a year of employment. From there, I quickly began my training as a Veterinary Technician. Working with different doctors over the years has really helped increase my knowledge as a technician. I’ve learned so much from every Veterinarian I’ve worked with, and all of them have been absolutely wonderful. I also began my journey as a Veterinary Practice Manager, moving forward in helping in the vet world in another way. From 2006 to the present, I’ve been working alongside owners to keep clinics running seamlessly and bring continuity of care to our facilities. I started working at Cashua Veterinary Care in 2011, finding my permanent veterinary home. I hope that our team provides you and your furry family member with infinite compassion and excellent medical care.

Tina Ethridge

Tina Ethridge

Veterinary Technician

Hi! I’m Tina, and I’ve been a Veterinary Technician since 2007, and have worked in the veterinary field since 2005. I love working with animals and educating owners about their beloved pets. I attended Florence Darlington Tech, where I obtained my Associate of Science with a major in Dental Hygiene. I enjoy using my knowledge of dental hygiene when cleaning a pet patient’s teeth. This has been an added benefit when working in dentistry with our pet patients. If I have to choose what my favorite career is, hands down, it is being a Veterinary Technician! I hope I get the chance to share my veterinary medical knowledge with your family, helping you become the very best pet parent that you can be.

My name is Kiersten Turner. I’ve been a part of the CVC team since 2021. I love working with and caring for animals. My knowledge and love for this field have led me to become a Veterinary Technician. On my days away from the vet, I enjoy working as a hairstylist. When I’m not working, I love spending time with my fiancé, family, and friends, going out on the boat, and catching up on a good book.

Christopher Jones

Christopher Jones

Kennel Technician

Hello, my name is Christopher, or Chris for short. I was born and raised in the Florence County area. I am a kennel technician here at Cashua Veterinary Care. I enjoy working in the kennel, taking care of all the animals while also getting to feed and play with them. I have been working at Cashua Veterinary Care for eight months while still being in high school, and I loved every minute of it.  Although I have only been working in the vet industry for eight months, I feel my knowledge of animals has grown so much stronger. Growing up, my family and I would take care of animals. We see them as family members.  We loved helping strays and caring for them. My goal is to become a vet tech and learn more ways to better take care of our furry friends.

When I’m not spending my days loving and caring for your pets, I enjoy spending time with friends, family, and my 2-year-old chihuahua.

Veterinary Receptionist

I’m Anita, and I started as a receptionist in the veterinary field in 2001. I never thought that I would love it so much when I walked into my first veterinary clinic, but here I am 24 years later! Client services are always important, and I take them very seriously. I am always on the go, looking for answers to our clients’ questions. I enjoy every minute with our clients and their pets. I joined the Cashua Veterinary Care team in 2018, and it has been absolutely wonderful. Working alongside a great team, I can continue to offer the knowledge and skills that I have learned over many years in this field. I am an advocate for the patient and the client, and I am here to help you! I hope to continue to provide excellent service to our current and future clients and patients.

I strive to make every visit smooth and stress-free for pet owners and their furry companions. From scheduling appointments and managing records to answering questions with compassion and care, I enjoy being the welcoming face of the clinic. D'artagnan

D’Artagnan

Office Cat

Hello, I’m D’artagnan, but my friends call me Dart. I keep the business running each day. I make sure that all dogs are listening to their owners and all cats remain calm. My salary consists of lots of treats and plenty of massages. At times, I have been known to get into purses to find my own treats, but don’t worry, that only happens when you’re not paying attention to my every need. I’m a busy guy, sleeping all day, asking for food when it’s an hour early, the usual day-to-day hard labor. If I’m in my bed ignoring you, don’t worry, I’m still glad you came to visit, and I want to see you again.

Dust Bunny

Dust bunny

Office Cat

Hi everyone, I’m Dust Bunny. I got my name from sweeping the floors with my long hair. I’m a walking dust mop! My talents include: hiding where no one can find me and protecting Dart. If I hear that a dog is coming through the clinic and my buddy Dart is having issues with this furry individual, consider it taken care of, guys. I grow huge muscles when I need to defend Dart from dogs. Let me know if anyone needs a kitty bodyguard. I work best when treats are involved!
